@the_mikey - not really a problem as I use 700x23 anyway, have already ordered some SKS Raceblade Long in case the weather reports gets real bad for sunday.

@Phoenix Lincs - to the rescue! Hadn't even thought of sealskinz, probably going to be perfect. If my feet are relatively ok, the shoes can squelch all they want! I ordered some slightly more expensive sealskinz than the one you just linked to, but they are anklets rather than full ankle length, so hopefully wont be quite so toasty.

Everything ordered, weather can do what it likes now lol.

Oops, a bit late to find the other information I went looking for then. Tame bike mechanic (another of my heroes) recommended crudcatcher mark 2 mudguards.

Hope everything arrives in time for you to try them out before THIS TIME NEXT WEEK!

Yeah the Cruds were my hot favourite until I watched an 18 minute installation video where the guy talked about drills or somesuch to get them to fit...!

I like the raceblades as they fit with an attachment that goes somewhere thru the brake calipers, and so you can take each sides blade bit off without uninstalling everything. Will make the rainy season a bit more bearable, just clip the blades on when you need them

Cruds - get the LBS to fit them

What bike do you have? The raceblades wouldn't fit my Giant, need more clearance

Cannondale synapse 105.

Don't want a lbs appointment everytime I want to add or remove a pair of mudguards. Cruds installation is really a massive off putter for me

^^ This, it's going to be warm. No need for overshoes. Your feet will soon dry out after any rain.
With overshoes they will just keep your feet damp and that will be yucky.

I wore my MT500's in an 100K Audax at end of June, I was reluctant to wear them as it was warm. When I got home, I took them off and my shoes underneath were soaking in sweat, but I didn't feel too hot or uncomfortable and my feet didn't suffer.... so I wouldn't worry.

Well the forecast is typically changing by the day, so weather its mudguards, anklet socks or just go out as normal and get wet if it happens will have to wait and see.

Like people have said at least the temp is up, I just think I got caught in a mighty shower on Saturday and it put ideas in my head.

Am also a little more prepared for autumn and winter showers
