By all accounts the Ro76 is a pretty decent shoe. Not as light or stiff as some more pricey models, but very well regarded.

However, they are generally quite narrow which is why a lot of people find a size larger than normal is required for a decent fit.
I have the Mo76 which is very similiar (spd version) and also got a burning\tingling and even numb right foot until people here suggested loosening the lower straps a bit.

It worked for me, although when these wear out I'll be looking at those Shimano shoes that are advertised with a 'wide toe box' to see if they may be a bit better.

Your doc should arrange a blood test to check for elevated uric acid levels if he/she suspects gout. But, as a rule of thumb, if you can sleep with the duvet touching your toe then it's not gout!

Thanks. The test was done, but was rather vague - i.e. yes a bit high but not overly so. Anyway it's not returned after 6 months or so thankfully! (Yes the duvet test is an apt one).

I did have to buy bigger, usually a 42 but had to buy a 43 because the 42's were a bit tight in all directions. I'm doing a few more miles today with loose middle and toe straps so I'll see how they feel, I sort of hope they still hurt so I can justify another pair of more expensive shoes!!
