A local road - well several local roads - heve high voltage grid lines passing over. People even live under them. I wouldn't, there is a permanent electro-magnetic field all around them, and that can't be good to be under all the time. The radio goes haywire as you pass under, and that's in the car, which is a very effective Faraday cage (nice and safe in a lightning storm). But I've never had any experience that could be described as a "shock" when riding the bike under them. Then I don't ride carbon, only aluminium, titanium, or very light steel.
