After misplacing my Garmin over the weekend, I thought of pressing an old phone into service to cover it's duties while it hides itself. I've installed it and it looks like it'll do the job except for one irritating issue. I can't see or find the folder where you drop the .GPX files into, nor does Osmand want to let me change the folder to look in. I know it's osmand/tracks but I can't see anything of Osmand on either of the devices I've installed it to (Google Nexus 7 & Samsung galaxy S3 mini).

Anyone got any ideas?

Yup.

Open the app, click the menu button (touch the map, it should appear in the bottom left hand corner). Click "General settings"

scroll down. You should see a heading "Data storage folder". That will be the directory that the "tracks" folder is under.

Got that, the problem is I can't actually see that folder (or anything Osmand related) on either device when I connect it up to a PC to drop a .GPX file in.

2 suggestions:
  1. Try a file manager app, and see if you can see the directories with that.
  2. Click on the storage data settings, click the pencil and change it. It seems to create the directories when you do that, so if somehow they don't exist that should create them

Cracked it . I stuck a clean SD card into the phone and pointed Osmand in the direction of that (/storage/extSdCard) and it copied all the files over and created directories I can now see. Dropped a .GPX file in and it looks like it'll work. Thanks for your help .
