Mine does the same with my Btwin 3 red, is it a fault or is it to aid gear change?......no idea here either

A cassette fits onto splines on the freehub body so one part can't oscillate separately to any other - the small waver later in the vid shows the 'normal' movement of any cassette. Nothing to worry about.

No play in the cassette, cant put a spacer behind, its a 10 speed, noticed my R31's on my other bike doesn't do it, could it be lower entry model.

I think the oscillation when the cassette is stationery shows that the freehub body is not sitting on the hub correctly.

That's very strange. Will have to check mine now
Can't think of any reason why it might do that. Did you tighten the cassette to the correct torque?
I had an issue before where I put new wheels on and the cassette wasn't tightened enough even though I thought I had. Should have been tightened to 40 NM.
I had play in it though

Got some new Shimano 501's new cassette and was setting gears up ready for the winter, and noticed this oscillation when freewheeling, should this happen on new wheels, short vid here, http://vid1177.photobucket.com/albums/x348/andsaw/Rear wheel/14440002.mp4, cassette is tight and nothing out of order, it looks more like the freehub that's doing it.

My shimano 501s do exactly the same, but still running true after 3000 miles

Make of cassette is shimano 4600, if the wheel only goes up to 10 speed why would it need a spacer, i thought you only need spacers running 10 speed with a 11 speed hub, please enlighten me on that one, its is also tightened up, there is is no play in the cassette, except for i can feel a bit of play in the freehub going in a up and down movement.

Non of my wheels have an 11 speed freehub and they all require the spacer that comes with the 10 speed 105 cassette.

I got a 105 cassette and it had a 1mm spacer, so i tried it on and the locknut wouldn't even touch the threads on the hub so its a no no with the Tiagra cassette with a spacer, incidentally the 105 cassette was totally different to the Tiagra on the back of the biggest cog and that's why the 105 has a spacer, and as others have said its only happening when freewheeling so not overly worried about it now.
