Bike tyres are one of the things where the French really have got it right; Michelin Pro 4 all the way for me!

Continental Gatorskins have as much grip as a Jack Russell on kitchen lino, and IME Conti 4000S are flimsy to the point of beads separating from the rest of the tyre. I don't expect any Continental fans to agree with me but I have reasons born out of experience to avoid them.

I think your 'IME' is telling. Not having a dig by the way, I just think that the contact points with your body and the bike and the road are hugely personal, based on experience and the occasional manufacturing fault.

I'd happily recommend the Pro 4s as an alternative by the way. But anything from Schwalbe? Sling yer hook
