Having read of others' bad experiences with one large online dealer, I'd be interested to know if any forum members can recommend a really good one that gives them customer satisfaction every time. Living as I do on the Isle of Wight, I have little or no opportunity of inspecting different makes and models close up and tend to rely on what I find on various firm's web sites.
Cheers,
John.

I have always used St John Street Cycles and occasionally Spa Cycles in Harrogate.

Never been disappointed with Wiggle, Chain Reaction or SJS.

Ribble have always delivered, but I've never been exactly confident in their customer service (they can be almost un-contactable) and tbh I'd have to think very carefully before dropping a big order their way.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Wiggle have a great reputation re. their 30 day bike trials. Limited selection though, but Focus and Verenti get good reviews. Pity for you that they don't have a 'shop front' as they are based in Portsmouth! Important to be able to try before you buy if you are after a complete bike. Before I ordered my Ribble I visited the shop (as it was then) in Preston to be measured. No complaints about them either, by the way. For components I have used Wiggle, Ribble, CRC, PBK, Dotbike, Spa and many others. All have given good service - I tend to go for the lowest price and free P+P. if possible.

Many thanks. gentlemen, for all your helpful replies. It would seem to me, from what you have said, that I could do a lot worse than going to Wiggle. This conclusion of mine is reinforced by the fact that they run the CTC shop.
Cheers,
John.

Ive used Wiggle, Chain Reaction, Planet X and Ribble and had no problems. Stay way clear of Dave Hinde though!

Wiggle being in Portsmouth are also probably the closest though as
a. They don't have a shop
b. Once it's picked up by a delivery company it probably heads in the opposite direction to you to a depot ho hum
this is probably irrelevant

I just placed my first order with Chain Reaction Cycles yesterday at 12pm, order was in my hands the next morning with free delivery. Top stuff, and I'll certainly be buying again. Their prices beat ebay by a good margin on the items I was interested in too

I've heard bad things about Dave hinde, and Ribble have upset many customers in the past (including me).

Wiggle seem to have the best customer service, although CRC is pretty good just a bit slower for returns (their delivery is super fast usually).
