Thank you Moderator I will use the word Richard in future, much more polite

I told one of my neighbours what I was thinking of doing, he's trying to sell a 1999 Honda Civic Coupe, 73K miles, no tax or MOT. There are examples on Autotrader at around £1000. The company who valued mine wouldn't even quote a price. The local scrap man has quoted £150.
By coincidence, one of the companies I made my initial enquiry from has just rung, so I've now made an appointment with them, the admin fee is £69.99 if they buy the car, if they don't or I don't accept their final offer there is no charge. Instant payment into my bank account. They also did an HPI check while I was on the phone. So it looks like there aren't any scams. Will report back when they've been. I'll also check with my bank what the position is.
No tax (or indeed, valid tax) should make no difference these days since it's not transferable with the car anyway.no tax or MOT
You do however get a refund on the existing tax if it is 6 months or over I believe, I got £125 back when I sold my Ford Fusion. No tax (or indeed, valid tax) should make no difference these days since it's not transferable with the car anyway.
