A friend of mine was a (professional) car photographer and was covering some historic military vehicle event. Taking pictures of an enthusiasts army truck he casually asked if some of the uniformed guys nearby could stand by the truck. The owner immediately said very forcefully "I don't want any of 'them' anywhere near my vehicle".

Evidently there are vehicle enthusiasts who tinker with and preserve old army vehicles, and there's also the dressing up and playing soldiers faction, and there's a big gulf between the two. I don't recall if they were dressed as Nazi stormtroopers or not, but it has to be said that even the dressing up as Yanks lot often seem to have an unfortunate fondness for Confederate flags.

A Gilbern parked up near us. Not a car you see very often and I believe the only marque originating in Wales. Glass fibre body and a Ford V6, so in the same vein as TVR or Scimitar Quite nce condition regular use car; this one with an estate style body, again like the Scimitar

I love the Gilbern. Always liked them since I was a wee bairn, and back then you'd see them about now and again. One of my old neighbours had an Invader which was lovely, albeit the mk3 with the odd looking blistered arches to accommodate wider axles.

I've never seen an estate version.
