Itching to get back on my bike's
Location
Northamptonshire
My aunt used to have a 2200TC version, she once came out of work, got in the car & started to drive home, she looked at the fuel gauge & thought she'd best put some fuel in but didn't remember it being that low on the way to work. She stopped at the petrol station, put some fuel in, then reached into the glove box to get her chequebook only to find it wasn't there, not only that there were things in there that didn't belong to her, then looking around the car she realised it wasn't her car. After the initial panic she had to go into the petrol station & explain the situation that she had no way to pay etc. Then drove back to the car park to find somebody she knew leant up against her car, he was laughing when she pulled up & he said was that he'd seen her driving out of the car park & knew she'd be back soon as there wasn't much fuel in it.

Love it 😅

My 1959 mini had an FS880 key, its one of the most common keys out there, cars, plant, forklifts, they all use them, so its maybe no surprise ...

They have a futuristic almost Dan Dare look, somewhat akin to the DS Citroens don't they?

I did get a drive in a former boss's V8 which he'd inherited from his grandad. Despite being in rusty banger condition, it was a cracking car to drive and despite there being a fair bit of body roll, it felt as if was on rails round corners and very precise, albeit with rather light steering. I was quite impressed, and a V8 manual (his was an auto sadly) still has a lot of appeal.

That said, the lowish power V8 back then was likely not much faster than the four. And if you put a 200hp more modern version in it'd likely be far too much for the gearbox

In a local dealer which seems to have a handful of classics passing through. They often have rather more exotic stuff in there, OK not Ferraris but they did have a lovely Alfa Spyder a few years back

Not the kind of thing I see everyday in Bristol,
and I doubt it would even fit down our street, but rather splendid and in lovely condition. A Ford Fairelane apparently

I know it's not the same car, but does anyone else feel like taking this for a midnight dockland drive, whilst singing a certain Special song ?

This town, is comin' like a ghost town !

One of my regrets is not going to see them in Bristol a year (or ten?) back.

I guess it was very much a Yank style car wasn't it, albeit a Vauxhall Cresta if my inner geek is correct

Never seen one in the wild before, and we were just discussing same model upthread not so long afo. Quite an exotic machine, with its Maserati engine and in lovely condition too. Got chatting to the owner who'd done some 90,000 miles in it himself, so it wasn't by any means just a pretty ornament. I saw the back of it from some distance and thought "is that really what I think it is?" and indeed it was
