E photographed this in town today. I didn't see it. But is it what I think it is?

If you think it is nearly a quarter of a millions pounds of 1928 BENTLEY 6½-LITRE TOURER, then yes.

Presumably a home-made?

I know a couple of companies offer load-beds, & 'cab-walls' for Discovery Tdi's (& the Td5), & Range Rovers
The green 6x6 is probably a Carmichael (ex airport fire-tender)

It looks great on those Simex tyres!!; https://www.fwi.co.uk/machinery/4x4...urns-land-rover-discoverys-into-pickup-trucks

D3/D4 pick-up, anyone?; https://www.mochofabrication.co.uk/product/discovery-pickup-conversion/

Another company offers a forward control adaptation for the D1!; https://onthewight.com/rotodama-rediscovery-land-rover-discovery-super-utility-vehicle-disco/

That's not a blower on the front is it ? If so it's even more exotic than the "ordinary" version. We saw one of the latter going through a Wiltshire village a year or two back, and it was a very fine carriage indeed

Doesn't appear to be. Wiki refers to power-assisted brakes, so I wonder if it's to do with those.
