I don't get it. I ordered the Versa the same day it was launched and they still haven't built it.
I'd get in contact with them in that case, I just realised that it was you who said you ordered one over a month ago. I placed my order on the 21st and the initial status indicated that there were stock issues. I sent a message to them on their website asking when they were expecting stock, they responded that the order had been released and that it "just needs building it will probably be next week when this arrives". After a week of hearing nothing from them, I received an email on Thursday last week to inform me that my bike is scheduled to be built on the 6th (tomorrow).

Well mine was scheduled to be built september 24th but then delayed because they were apparently waiting for a brake cable. But now I hear people are receiving their bikes, then obviously the cable issue is resolved. But still no word from them. You'd think they would process orders on a first come first serve basis, especially since my credit card was billed the date of ordering.

in fairness I also ordered on the same day, within about 30 minutes of them going on the site. Give them a call and ask where yours is in the queue. Theres always a chance a mistake has been made and a 5 minute call will sort it out, they seem like reasonable people.

Seriously envious now, marcw! Mine is apparently due to be built tomorrow, so I guess I might get it by the end of the week. Which pedals do you have on yours?

currently some BMX plaform pedals. Have some SPDs to fit but haven't ridden clipped in before so will give myself time to get used to them before playing in traffic.

I would contact them, they seem to respond pretty quickly.

I just checked their site again and it looks as though the 11 speed versions of the Pompetamine have been removed - I wonder why?

Ask them  .
They do seem to use the site to ask 'what do you think to.......' and gauge reaction to prototypes they have made to see if they are likely to sell. Seems a good idea to me, make what your customers want rather than something you hope they will buy. A benefit of being a relatively small manufacturer.

Is everybody ordering this with the 23mm tyres? I see that for £2 extra you can choose the 28mm tyres, id like these for a bit more comfort and stability in the wet, would there still be clearance for guards with 28mm tyres?

In their sneak preview pictures they show the bike with a white stem and white bars, does anybody know which part of the customisation page that these parts are on?

Im sorry for hi-jacking the thread but if anybodys putting a rack and guards on this what are you going for?

Hi, mine is currently setup with full SKS guards and M+ tyres in 700x35, you could maybe squeeze slightly bigger tyres in but I'd not want clearances any tighter, so this is max size for me.

Mudguard fitting at the rear was straightforward except for the bridge/crown bit. There's no drilling for the bracket but rather a vertical hole. So I had to make a hole in the mudguard and it bolts through that to the frame, going straight up into join of seatstays.

Front mudguard is going to be trickier, fine with a normal wheel but when my disc wheel arrives then the stays will need to be worked around the front disc caliper. I'll post up when fitted to explain if I've had to do any workarounds.

So 28mm tyres should give you plenty of room, the M+ are pretty chunky. No idea on the white stem and bars I'm afraid.

Ooooh, is that a little flash of sexy orange in that box 3BM?

Looks interesting... so this'll be the Genesis Day One you were talking about on the last FNRttC. Any plans on taking it on the Whitstable FNRttC?

It is a flash of sexy orange, MacB, very nice too. Built it up last night and it's ready to go apart from some disc brake adjustments, they're new to me so I've got a bit of reading up to do today. Looks good so far.

@McW - Yes it's the very one. Don't think I'd be welcomed on a FNRttC with the combo of hub, guards and rack - I've got to think of Simon's blood pressure!

Now I'm really confused - what happened there then?

Well I had it in mind to get the Pomp. but the chainset would need changing to a 42t to give me the gears I wanted and the tyre upgrade was +£58 so it didn't add up when Genesis brought out the Day 01 Alfine which had the very spec I wanted. And the Day 01 is a rather nice orange colour. See?!

i've used mudguard stays only from the right side. the stay needs to be without quick release (i.e. the rear one), then the mudguard doesn't wobble too much. initially i was going to put p-clips on each side above disc brake caliper, but then mounted the stay just to one side, and it worked ok, so i left it like that.
