I'm fairly sure I remember @MacB having mary bars on one of the many bikes he's owned, difficult to keep track though as they fall through his hands like grains of sand pouring through an egg timer...

I have em on a Roadrat. But I'm a bit undecided despite commuting most of summer with them. I never quite got a wholely comfortable position, but wouldn't rule out that I never got em dailed in quite right - there's plenty of room to play between having them horizontal, angling em, turning em upside down, etc. The angle meant my hands sometimes felt they wanted to slide forward on the bars. I think the lack of hand positions is another issue, although there's some room to move them about a bit. I'll probably leave em on a while, as I've had my fill of fidding with bikes for the year and they're not too bad - but they will get changed eventually. Look smart tho!

I tried a few years back with bar ends on the outside, but it felt (and looked) a bit wierd. I've seen pictures of people setting them up inboard, slanted inwards and meeting at the middle, to make a kind of budget Jones H-bar.

I haven't got a recent picture but my Flikr account does show a couple of sets of Marys and one with inboard bar ends. I now have two sets in play that use stubbier bar ends inboard of the grips. I did try some outboard but they didn't work for me.
Ha. Those photo's remind me of my backwards components bottom bracket. I wasted days trying to get that to work with an SRAM chainset but no matter what permutation of spacers and components I used with it either it locked up completely so the cranks wouldn't turn or it had side play. Eventually, finding the idea of wavy washers repugnant I went Hope having decided I could live with adjusting the disc brake as and when.
