Watched the eventing dressage today on Discovery+ - Team GB set a record for the team score and Laura Collet set an individual record for her test; she and the team lie first overnight, with the cross country and showjumping to come.

An added element for me was that I know one of the commentators very well - we used to own a horse together that he rode and competed.

Lots can happen in the next two phases but fingers crossed for a medal. 🥇

I just flicked on to the Olympic surfing and was very surprised to see such big waves and nice beaches in France.

Turns out the surfing competition is being held in Tahiti in French Polynesia.

It’s 9300 miles from Paris, which is a world record for distance of an event to the host city.
