Getting a horse to dance would be very hard without some sort of compulsion.
I suspect they are all at it. And it’s probably time to say good bye to dressage. After all no one cares other than during the Olympics. and it’s hardly an inclusive sport.

Yes, the issue here is that she got outed. The optics are not great for a non-equine audience but the whip she is using will definitely not harm or hurt the horse, just annoy it (source: I have lunged horses many times using the same type of whip… but not in the same way).
I’d argue that, like many sports, it comes to public attention during the Olympics but for those involved in it it remains relevant and important year-round.

Not sure the boats is a great idea for an opening ceremony. The weather hasn’t helped but reminds me of the Queens jubilee on the Thames which was equally boring.

Nope, it wasn’t for me. It’s like they had an idea session then loaded all the ideas in a shotgun and fired them at a script.
London was special. I was lucky enough to be in the stadium. I like the idea that in Paris they took it out of a limited-access stadium and took it to the city, but the results didn’t resonate with me.

Unfortunately it was 1936 and the Nazi propaganda ceremony that set the scale for what we now get, expanded on by Tokyo in 1964 with live global television
