ok that sounds like a old wives tale(or an old tale which merits are doubtfull)so going to start my own old wives tale......put golden syrup on your saddle to aid slipping, glued to it i'd imagine

Extra Virgin would contain more of the harder/waxy oil fraction than the later pressings so one might argue that it's lubing properties might be better but I wouldn't put money on it! As a short-term lube though Veg oil would work fine on a bike chain.
