Old man starting back on bikes

Helooooo im a 60 year old guy from west coast of Scotland coming back to bikes after a break of more years than I care to remember. I rescued a Ridgeback vanteo from the local recycling site . Turns out it's a 2018 model. Spent a couple of hours replacing the tires and tubes and brake pads and everything was good to go . Enjoying the bike . Part of coming back to bikes is the NHS. For my 60th birthday they gave me diabetes and high blood pressure lol. So on a diet and time to changes my life style . I have the bug now and about to take the plunge on a Focus whisper mountain style bike to take on a bit of rough ground . I feel the front shocks will serve me better than my hybrid Ridgeback . So from a home with no bikes I'm a 2 bike household lol. Both mine .looking forward to reading and learning new things in here

The NHS does a good job recruiting the smarter ones to a life of cycling.
This seems to be a good place to be
Use the bike you've got and get out there.
It's largely free and does you good
Be encouraged and enjoy the bike.

Oh, I remember that. It's a letter of commitment. We find you, your house or your bike and you sponsor the night. Being Scotland most nights last about 3 days.
