Great post and advice - I'm bloody excited by it now - roll on February. I had'nt thought of my present bike in those terms before but you are right - it's such a tank that as long as I can muster the leg power to get it moving that's exactly what it does - rumbles or smashes over features. I'm looking forward to the challenge of the Cube tbh. Also to those glorious summer days when I can hit the Blue route when the Reds are busy and really fly those 15 miles.

Here for rides.
No, it'll be great. It won't nurse you down, nor give you that sitting in the bike planted feeling, but it will go like the proverbial. You'll have to pick your lines instead of rumbling over them or smashing though stuff, and you'll have to use and hone all your skills to get the best from it. It will reward you many times over for your effort and you'll be a much better rider for it. All that would have come with the Ltd as well, so it isn't about choosing between these two anymore, that's a bit of a no-brainer to be fair, it'll be getting your mind ready to really learn from and with a new bike.
^This.

40mm would be short enough, I guess.

Still, I'm very happy with my Cube at the moment, and I also don't have any money left!
Absolutely. You originally got the Cube as a donor but it's obvious you've fallen in love with it... your enthusiastic posts show as much. Give it plenty of time, as I'm sure you've got a hell of a lot of top quality riding to get out of the LTD, so much so that a Soul may be a future aspiration... it certainly doesn't look like you're in a hurry to bin off the Cube's frame just yet!

Lulu it's in no small part down to your enthusiastic posts about your new bike that I even started looking at a Cube in the first place. If it's good enough for the Spanish mountains etc etc...

Just been and stuck a deposit on the Cube Reaction - last one in the shop and as I was handing over the cash another chap was all over it behind me ^_^ .
I sat on it, picked it up (light? wow...just wow) and basically fell in love with it. The nice man at the shop (who is sponsored to compete on BMX's) does the Dog and Monkey regularly and basically confirmed what you good folk told me - it will be easily good enough for the red runs, it is a flying machine and I will need to tame it - he suggested the only thing he would change on it would be the bars, which are very racy, and change them for wider risers, but apart from that it was beeeeautiful to look at and has great kit on it. Roll on February and my cycle to work certificate - the bike is now in a box upstairs in the shop waiting for Feb and it's pre delivery checks.
Here is a picture of it...just because I can....
