Had some building work done recently. Builder turned up sometime around 10:00.
Mug of tea and biscuits.
Unload van.
Sit in van with phone.
Disappear to builders merchants.
Back in time to go for sandwich for his dinner
Stand looking at the job, scratch his head, rearrange tools, materials etc.
Mug of tea while packing up for the day.

One hard day!

PS: we did eventually get the job done and were pleased with the result.

Interesting though, a short while ago I post a thread about leasing bikes, Evans had asked about it on their usual email. Looks this this guy and maybe ozboz could benefit. You pay so much each month and every two years you get a new bike. Most were down on the idea.

He works hard , 64 yo and at the moment working through12 hour days with an L5 herniated disc in the new Starbucks at S Terminal Gatwick Airport , I am a Tiler ,
Usually employed on commercial projects
the Pic is of the same model , Im going in on Friday to have a better look at this , Ive never considered myself as a 'Roadie '
Ive got three MTB's and a Surley CC , but this has got me thinking , big time !!

At least the shifters on that one are where they should be, i.e. pointing forward instead of being all "hello sailor!" like in the earlier posted pic.

That is peanuts for somebody living in Richmond If you have that amount of money knocking around with nothing else to spend it on get it brought. Now if the money is saved for a rainy day when you cannot earn I would say keep the money in the bank.

The only security a self employed person has is the cash in their bank.
