Definitely, pretty miffed that I had got up at 6am to get one the Thursday they went on sale.

Stores cannot predict demand for new items.

I know for a fact I have popped into an Aldi/Lidl en-route 10 minutes before closing day prior to buy an item or two.
Each store has staff scheduling/workload to consider.
