Off to Arran for a week

Family are off to Arran for a week tomorrow, taking touring bike and Mountain bike to do a bit of both. staying in Brodick right next to some mountain bike trails, so should be fun. Bring it on

Arran's a lovely place. I'm thinking of a flying visit sometime in Early June for a round of the island. A week is about right I'd say. There's a swimming pool at Auchrannie you can use as a visitor which is pretty superb. have fun.

Cracking circuit round the island, and if you work it you can do a fig of 8 using the string road, good climbs.

We went last year, truly beautiful.
Full circuit of the island is a great and challenging ride with spectacular views and fab places to stop off.

Descent the String Road , great fun. Was a bit chewed up on my last visit in March. Managed 50mph whilst braking.

Yeah you were unlucky weather wise. Arran was looking good from the mainland with its covering of snow.
