As long as I breathe, I attack.
Having been diagnosed with carpel tunnel syndrome and having to wear wrist braces 24/7 with no manual work at all i am off the bike for at least this week and next i will be sitting on the beach eating ice cream in the rain so at least it shall get a rest .Kind of puts the knockers on the jobs i need to do round the house as we have just moved and there is lots of flat pack to sort out .
It started over a month ago when i would wake up with numb hands then i would have constant tingling in my hands which has got worse and riding on the hoods set it off and the tops was just about bearable for short distances.
The Doctor i saw yesterday said i have to give the braces a month and if that does not work then its the knife.
In the long term i hope to be back on the road but i am not sure in what form.

Gutted for you CK. Really hope things work out for you with the braces and that you're able to get back on the road soon.
Take care mate.

You dont have Raynauds do you ? It can also be a cause of carpel tunnel.

Hopefully this will give your wrists a rest. Anything that you think has triggered it ?
fairly heavy job , work are thinking about moving some of the lifting around to other jobs to even it out,add on top all the lifting down to moving house as i used a friend of the family who does man with a van rather than a full blown removal service so i saved about £5-600 .
After my last sleep ( nights suck !) it was the 1st time i did not get woken up with numbness in the hands.

Yes i do , i had it bad last winter .
Cheers for all the replies as most of the people i know blame the bike for anything thats wrong with me , mind you they are coach spuds.

It isn't the bike.

May be worth seeing if you can get a Vitamin D test. My wife has done a lot of research into it, and a deficciency in it can cause all sorts of issues - it's very common problem in the UK as we cover up from the sun.

My FIL and SIL have Raynauds and my wife has got a Vitamin D test for her, her dad and mum, as she suspects they are both deficcient (poor diet, old, don't go out on top of other health problems).

You can also buy high dose vitamin d over the counter/on line.

Worth discussing with the GP - our local Health Authority don't test for it, but Manchester does. My wife was deficcient last year !.

Well after 2 weeks off the bike and off any manual work , well apart from lumping suitcases, kids etc for a week and sleeping in wrist restraints my hands feel a lot better.
Left hand still is sensitive to vibration and driving back from holiday i could definetely feel a low level buzz after a while but not uncomfortable so i might try a spin tomorrow if i get chance early enough before it gets to hot, mind you i spent so long fiddling with my set up after i was convinced it was bike related i might need to dial it all back in again.
A week of to much beer and ice cream will not help though:whistle:
