In 1963, Professor Heinz Wolff had a minor UK hit with the single “Just like Eddie”.

"Just like Eddie" originally featured a piano. The sound engineer thought it sound wrong and wanted a guitar instead. Heinz Wolff couldnt play guitar so Mark Knoffler was brought in to play. After that, for all live performances, Heinz had to mime playing guitar while the sound was pumped in.

'Heinz' Wolff was actually Harry Wolfe. He was born in Tiptree, Essex.

He shared an agent with a number of other 'academics' keen to get onto the box. In fact he adopted the accent about the same time Magnus Pyke was given the idea to windmill his arms about.
