I've always been fascinated by the shin kicking championships. And specifically by the fact that they wear doctor's coats, thereby looking like something has gone off at the GP surgery.

It was organised by a wildlife group to promote the fact that wild species such as nettles are good for insects & wildlife in general.

Nettles = food plant for caterpillars = more butterflies

I'm not convinced ... butterflies in our garden, no nettles for a 100m ...

Tortoiseshell butterfly caterpillars (among others) feed on nettles.

I know the boy who started that initially as just a bit of a laugh. Easdale was famous only for the bridge over the Atlantic but that was all forgotten when this took off and now attracts international competition.

Yesterday saw the national Vintage Lawnmower Rally in Milton keynes.

Im not sad enough to visit stuff like that, just behind the old railway works, opposite Stacey Bushes, turn right jnto the car park just before the road junction
