Saw GG way back in the late 80's, at the Reading Uni, and Suzi Quattro that same year, at the Uni. Both great concerts.
All long before his 'exposure' - we never knew he wore a syrup either back then either.

Especially if they are being sold by Ticketmaster or AXS and are the only authorised sellers
Tickets for Bombay Bicycle Club last year had a face falue of £35, Ticketmaster's additional fees (below) brought the price paid up to £44.10

Per Item Fees
£4.75 (Service Charge Full Price Ticket) x1
£1.60 (Facility Charge Full Price Ticket) x1
£6.35
Order Processing Fees
Handling Fee (£2.75)
£2.75

Similarly tickets for Public Service broadcasting from AXS later this year incurred £10.40 of additional fees on a £34.50 ticket.
Tickets
£34.50
Service Charge
£4.90
Transaction Fee
£2.50
Facility Fee
£3.00

This has been the major con since the 90s (roughly when my gig-going started ramping down. Possibly also when I had a mortgage, etc etc ... ). Let's review the key facts here:
£10.40 of additional fees on a £34.50 ticket
So that's money that neither the artist(s) or the venue will see. This is in a world where Amazon etc can process a transaction for a few pennies (if that). Why do people pay this?? I know *I* don't; stick to small bands/venues, acts like Stu Lee (who has no advertising costs), minor plays etc etc ...

Lets crank the anger up a notch: Did you know Gary Glitter has a co writing credit on the Whats The Story Morning Glory song "Hello" ! :okay::laugh:^_^

Oh there's plenty of material out there. Noel on Brexit:
“You know what I mean? It was put to the people as a vote, the people voted. That’s democracy. F***ing get over it."
Attacking the Remain supporters trying to reverse the decision he said: “Then the people trying to get the vote overturned, they used to call that fascism.

“But they don’t call it fascism any more because they’re f***ing ‘right on’.”

... and shortly after he gets an Irish Passport so he can carry on touring. Nice!

Apparently Taylor Swift didnt have any dynamic pricing on her tickets, the price was the price end of story. Oasis could have done the same if they wanted to.
£150 is way over the top to see these bell ends anyway, never mind £500. They reformed due to the greed and its so evident. I'd laugh if the concerts didn't go ahead because they fell out again or one of them dropped dead or something.

After 10 posts on this thread I reckon you're protesting too much and have styled your home like the Definitely Maybe cover.

I am in the 'take it or leave it camp' but find your "if one of them dropped dead" comment waaay over the top.

So do I Dave, no thought for the people who want to see them, or the family of the deceased. Extremely bad taste.

£500 is not much money for a lot of people.

£500 is not much money for a lot of people.

Obviously its relative, but a lot of people are saying its extortionate and a rip off.
For what it is, its a total rip off.
There's still a cost of living crisis in this country at the moment and a lot of people are struggling. To be exceptionally greedy in a time of need just shows what these people are all about really.
