New York cycling is up 262% since 2000 and fatalities and serious injuries are down. Mind you they have a way to go yet to beat London.
19,000 cyclists a day in New York with 19 fatalities cf over 500,000 cycle journeys a day in London with 20,000 Boris Bike journeys with only 13 fatalities. And I'm sure the NY cyclists don't do the 26 journeys a day on average needed to equate the two.
