Numbness and setup

Hi I have been upping the miles lately but seem to be a bit uncomfortable on the bike in the crotch area.
I have a job to keep the weight on my sit bones when I am on the hoods I feel the weight going onto my arms and the front of the seat. I am wondering if shorter stem might help. I have the seat as far forward as it can go. Or maybe I just need to get used too the miles

Difficult. Could be the saddle - we all prefer different types. I am fine with flat topped saddles - cut out or not.

What type of bike ? You should be keeping weight off the bars, could be reach or height of saddle or stem.

The other issue is core strength - improve this and you'll be able to hold the weight. Takes time, but be careful if symptoms persist.

It is giant defy 2 fossyant I have just fitted a slightly shorter stem tonight also a better quality seat so we shall see how we go. You may be right about core strength too.
Thank you for your reply

Mmmm, saw this and wanted to pass on the following. There are several other threads on this subject (of which i've tried to pass on my recent newbie experience) - where generally a nudge down of the front of the seat has been a good solution.... however, I took the bike in for a service recently and the height of the seat post was altered (and not altered back) by only a cm or so. I really felt the difference. Play about at minute adjustments. Are you wearing padded shorts - if not, it would help greatly - I think most people do.
