Now, that's what I call welcoming

As a sort of leader/organiser of an informal group of mostly oldish and retired people that ride together on a Tuesday, I am always mildly surprised that not all pubs and cafes are pleased to see us. I would have thought that a bunch of tidy and respectable (and reasonably affluent) customers usually numbering 15 to 20 would be welcome on a quiet Tuesday in most places. We always let people know in advance when we are coming, and they are usually (but not always) understanding that on rainy days there might be only half a dozen rather than the full turnout.
Well, today was smashing. We were served promptly and with excellent humour, and what is more the landlord of the pub we lunched at made a point of showing us that he had been out and bought a selection of inner-tubes and bits and pieces in case we ever needed them How about that?

There's a cafe I go to with a bike rack around the back and the staff offer to fill up your water bottles whilst eating. I make a point of going there and spending cash.

The Dog and Partridge, Calf Heath. It is sort of between Cannock and Wolverhampton.

Is that the one close to the motorway bridge? What beer do they do there?

The Parson Woodfoorde at Weston Longville , near Dereham Norfolk , is another which welcomes cyclists
Various signed jerseys on the walls , a magazine rack with cycling publications and a basket on the bar with inner tubes gels etc for sale.
I went there for a family meal and it was very good, the staff told me that local clubs often finish their rides there.

I'll have to give it a try. It is so close to home we should have tried it by now. As I'm sure you're aware, Brewood is the the place to head to for pubs!
