I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
..the wheel is running straight again! Blimey...I just stepped away from it for a day and went back with a clear head and withing 40 minutes I had it done. I had th ebike up on a car rack stand fixed to the wall and used the brake blocks (new pads) asa trueing guide. I found it easier to remove the spoke key from my multi tool for this job & used masking tape to mark the 'To/from' points for the punch in...erm...I mean spoke overdubs..erm..nope..I mean which spoke s need tightening. I had first 'tuned' the right side of the wheel using my ears and guitar set up skills, then I did th esame on the other side(non drive side) but had it an octave lower approx...then I turned the wheel and it was already much better...I made the minor adjust ments from there watching the rim as it turned near the pads.
Now I dont think it is 100% perfect but it's pretty close, I have th ebrakes set as close as I have ever been able to and th ewheel spins straight and doesnt clip the pads.
I reckon this is good enough for on the road maintenance on a tour if no LBS are available at least.
I feel good about this...I have crossed a line somewhere.
Now all I have to do is replace the tyre and hope that doesnt send the whole thing out again...if it does I suppose it's just about goingback over it and tweaking.
Adding oil to the spoke nipples helped, as did figureing out which way to turn the spokes.
Thanks for all your help.
