I am thinking of using blackle instead of google as my search engine of choice. It's just like google, only it's black, so you don't waste valuable lumens lighting up your screen.

Decided to burn wood to heat the house as it puts into the atmosphere the same amount of carbon as it sucks out. As a minor point, It also keeps the house warm and I don't pay for it.

I've been saving more electricity by holding a glass to the wall and listening to my neighbours radio instead of my own.
We have gone one better, we use binoculars to watch the TVs across the road, with discreet sound transmitters secreted on the window sills.

I had an awkward conversation with an elderly Asian neighbour on the wheelie bin question... His English isn't brilliant and my Urdu is non-existent so we were finding it a bit hard to understand each other. The subject was definitely wheelie bins and I tried explaining what had happened with mine, but we weren't really getting anywhere. I ended up going back into the house and some time later I noticed him walking up and down the back alley looking for something, so I reckon that the phantom bin mover/thief had struck again! The space at the back of his house remained clear for a few days but then a wheelie bin suddenly appeared. It is not a new one so he hasn't just had it replaced by the council.

My theory is that there are new people working on the bin wagons and they have not been putting the wheelie bins back where residents expect them to be. We wander about looking for them and eventually track them down, or grab someone else's if that has been left unclaimed for days!

This one is the opposite.
There's a bloke who lives in a house with no neighbours within half a mile if not further. His bin has his house name on it AND postcode. What a nob.

The whole system was due to be changed this year, new bins & boxes/bags.

They're not replacing the old ones, and those on the bins/recycling are over 45 days behind, since the end of June.
