Hi

Please bear with me as I'm new to owning a decent bike and I hope this isn't a really nooby stupid question

I find that when I turn the handlebars they turn the wheel too easily for me ,that is turning left to right, right to left, hope I'm explaining ok.

Can I tighten anything so its a little stiffer to turn as I nearly fell off tonight doing a tightish u turn

There is no resistance what so ever

The bike is a new 2011 Specialized Allez Sport with about 100 miles done and its always been like that

Thanks

It sounds fine. If you tighten it too much you will bugger up the headset.

As long as there's no movement when you hold the front brake & puskh the bike back & forward, it's fine.

Change the forks.

Pitched forks or touring forks can give a poor performance in my opinion. If you change for a straight race fork you'll get a stiffer response.

The type of fork is nothing to do with the issue the OP has.

Its a Specialized Allez - doubt it'll have touring forks

No forks are straight - all have varying degrees of rake, and an Allez will be nicely in the middle of the road performance wise.

If the headset is stiff, it's overtight and or knackered. You'll get used to it.
