I did the norwich 50 (the younger brother of the norwich100) last year and it was a really good laugh. I'll be signing up for the next one....might even do the 100 (eek!)

probably, I've been doing it since 2007 - usually a good day out!

I'm normally on 5 1/2 hour pace if you want to join me?

You might also be interested in the Hethersett 60 ride in March if you live near Norwich

It's looking like there might be a bunch of us travelling up from Ipswich for this. I'm now trying to figure out whether to travel up by train or to stay nearby, although now looking at the trains the earliest train from Ipswich to Norwich arrives in Norwich at nearly 9am, which is no good!

Thanks for posting the link. Its one we plan to do. Trying to find if there is a 50 mile option for hubby, he seems totally daunted by the whole 100 mile thing. He will probably be back on dialysis by then so training might be tricky for him.

I must be awkward! Been thinking of doing the Suffolk sunrise maybe because friends live about 5 miles from the start. Might be because we have aquired a foreign retrevier ( came from Beccles ) who nows. Did Norwich 50 in 2010 and the 100 in 2011 and enjoyed both although prefered the 100. Seemed well organised although was a good job I ride the routes because couldn't read the map ithout glasses!

You get a map  That'll be me lost within 5 miles then. Are there no signs and arrows? I can read a map but because of my dyslexia I get a bit panicky if I'm cycling by myself.

Foreign Retriever  like that very much. We knew someone with an American Cocker Spaniel who insisted that it wasn't an 'american' because she bought him from Bicester.

Hi Saluki, it's all well and truly signposted, with lovely volunteers at big junctions to warn of traffic. So don't worry about getting lost and just follow the crowds!

Tongue in cheek Saluki he obviously takes after his master like his 2 predesesors ( spelling? ) . As regards map I just followed the crowd and hoped they new wear they were going.

When I did the Suffolk Sunrise 2 years ago the organisation was awful, esp considering the high cost of entering. The route was nice though and more 'hilly' than the Norwich 100.

All info on the Norwich 50/100 can be found on the bike-event website: www.bike-events.org
