that just 14 days out of the saddle makes riding really hard.

Had a week off for Whitby Folk Week, hard to cycle on those hills with 2 button accordions in tow, then a further week with the cold I got from camping at the above. Got back on the bike today, and it was really hard work, totally bollixed after 15 miles at 14.5mph average (old bloke/heavy hybrid).

Guess I just need to keep on keeping on :bicycle:

It'll on be a ride or two to be back up to speed.

In my training for London100 I had a fortnight off (badly timed training course/holiday) and when I got back I went out for a 50miler thinking I'd be ok. It was awful! Think I tried to get back onto my schedule too quickly and should have built it back up gradually.
The next two rides were fab though, so maybe it was a blip. Don't put pressure on yourself to get back to it too quickly

Oh, before I forget, 14 days out of the saddle makes riding really hard. Remember that. ;)

On a more positive note, you quickly regain what you've lost, so keep on, keeping on!

Two weeks off is fine - just back myself. suffering a little with the back end of a snotty cold, but it's just re-training the ass to sustain sitting on the saddle that's a bit uncomfy at first.
