Can you put a comment on (about the missing road) using this tool?

Not at work - it just displays a terse message saying my browsers out of date:angry: True, IE6 is old, but surely they could display *something* useful to those of us stuck with it.

I might have a go at home - if I remember.

Or - you could post a comment over on yacf? there is a big community of cyclist / mappers over there, some them only talk GEEK, but many are almost human.

Might do that too. It just doesn't inspire confidence when using it for unfamiliar areas.

Very unlikely, IE6 is a truly rubbish browser and a major security risk. Sorry but that is just the way the world is...

I know what you mean.... but then how quickly does the OS catch up with new roads?

I have a big collection of OS maps, 1:50,000, 1:25,000 and even some old 1inch to the mile. + some Harveys 1:40,000 all of which I've used A LOT.

I've been a GPS luddite for years - "what's wrong with paper map?", "paper doesn't need batteries" etc etc. I've finally succumbed and bought a Garmin Legend - but I objected to paying another £100 on top for Garmin's Topo mapping which is universally considered very poor by comparison with the OS & Harvey's offerings, guess that's why I'm keen on OSM as a concept.

Out of idle interest, a sign saying "unsuitable for motors" is usually a very good indication that it has vehicle rights (used to be either BOATS (Byways Open to All Traffic), RUPPS (Roads Used as Public Paths) or UCR (UnClassified Roads). Although i think there has been a change recently in the law. Although that is another and rather passionate debate!
