Recumbent riders tend to wave at all other cyclists, none of this road/mtb snootiness. :sun:
Is that not just them showing off a bit  - see how comfy I am, I can wave with both hands  ?

 n+1 here we go again ...

back on topic ... on my commute there are quite a few cyclists, most of them nod or smile (and I do too), it's the same people every day too . They very rarely "wave" - perhaps that's because the Edinburgh roads are notorious for their potholes ...

Fantastic post mate, really good link and a very interesting article, when i was doing cycling for the first time in ages i was doing a 3 mile circuit around a small town (Dalgety Bay), i done it 5 times a night to get into cycling and getting fit again and a i had a guy doing it the other way round so i would pass him on every circuit, he waved and smiled everytime so i did the same, made me laugh seeing him a few 100 metres away coming towards me.

I wave if i'm not in danger of an off (snow/ice riding) or just say hello and nod. There is a divide between road/tourer/MTB rider though which is a shame as we are all doing the same thing.I notice it on my Sunday rides when i'm out and about on either the Hybrid or MTB,either way everyone get a nod/wave/hello !

LOL! I am yet to master riding no-hands on my two-wheeled recumbent - it's a Fujin SLII. It's possible apparently, but difficult.
