Night-time cycling

i have fitted spoke reflectors too, see the image below. you can pick these up all from most online places and i think are worth the money.

and i do agree, night riding is a much nicer experience due to heightened senses and less traffic.

Get down to your neatest Pound Land and see if they have any of the flashing LED velcro bands left. ou can put them on arms, ankles or just about anywhere.

+1 for those too. i use them on flashing mode on my arms. not bad for a quid

night cycling is not too different with good lights. less traffic (and drivers overtake wider), usually colder than at daytime (wrap up warm), most stores and cafes shut (have some food&drink with you if going far), wildlife is more likely to run across the road (be careful descending). i like cycling at night, sometimes.

Just be seen,keep warm/dry and carry the neccessary spares.

I have a small spare rear light fitted, a 5W Cree front light and have just bought a twin set of Cree fronts (not arrived yet),plus carry fully charged spare batteries, a few tools and an spare innertube (well do now since I had a flat the other week with no spare!)

I wear a wicking base layer and depends how cold another layer,then either a windproof or rainproof yellow jacket with a flashing arm band on for good measure

Visibility is important. 3M spoke reflectors (as uphillstruggler's), I've posted pics of mine in the past, for side visibility, 2 lights each end, I have battery and dynamo and still carry a spare set of batteries. If you're doing much of it get rechargeables.

Very enjoyable, I do a lot of it, and I agree with almost all that's been said above.
