Oops, changed again. ... The Mods didn't change it, they asked me to, as they quite rightly recognised that it's not a trademark or copyright or patent. Personally i think that if you're not going to patent it, then you shouldn't be offended if people start to adopt it. it's obviously going to happen at some point. I suppose that's what happened with the coast to coast.

I have been trying to think about places on rivers, with options for breakfast, and trains back to Warwick/Birmingham.

Way before my time, local clubs from the South Bham and Solihull area used to have an annual ride to Weston and back. The tales from participants portray the event as legendary. Starting from Rubery at 2am on Sunday in February, up to 100 or more riders would slip and slide their way down the A38 using old fashioned headlamps. At Weston they would find a greasy spoon before making the return journey back to the Midlands.

The were 'hard' then. .....or possibly stupid.

Just noticed this thread (thanks for the tip-off, Teef!).

A night ride to the beach from Birmingham is something I've been pondering for a while. My tongue-firmly-in-cheek name for it is "The Birmingham Bimble to Somewhere Less Ugly". Other suggestions are welcome. "Birmingham Bimble to the Beach" perhaps?

Chepstow is the obvious destination and probably the most sensible one for a first ride. Not to mention it's not Weston-Super-(night)Mare! I've got a good idea of the roads down to Evesham but very little thereafter! Finding a 24 hour Tesco in Gloucester would make for a reasonable half-way stop.

I also like the idea of Aberystwyth as a destination. It's further and almost certainly more hilly/harder. I'll give it more thought in June, right now I've got far too much on (Need! To! Get! Results! Now!!!).

Chiltern trains go to Marylebone, stopping at Solihull and Warwick. It would be very easy for you to get to the FNRttC. You'd be certain of a warm welcome! Why not sign up for the Brighton run in May when the trains will be running normally so you can get to see how it works at first hand?
