Well done to Nicole but I was amazed that her parents didn't even bother going over to watch! They were congratulating her from the comfort of their sofa on the news last night.

Anyone here with kids? Can you imagine your daughter winning a place in team GB and not even bothering to go and watch as she takes an Olympic gold medal? Shocking!

Well obviously people feel differently in different parts of the UK, but speaking as a Southerner, if it was me I would have sold a kidney to get out there and watch.

Perhaps they're running out of organs to sell. She's been to other Olympics as well as Commonwealth Games / World Championships / Tour de France, etc....

Perhaps they don't like travelling long haul.. .

Perhaps they feel they don't have to justify their joy over their daughter's success against the criteria of an internet forum bigot.
