Nice wide cycle lane

That modified lane is just stupid! The car drivers going down there are faced with a choice of driving into the cycle lane or driving into oncoming traffic. I'd like to see the study which produced this particular work of genius

Thats not the message its meant to send. The message is that you must be "this far away" when you overtake a vulnerable road user. If people are unsure they only have to ask their council "what does this mean/why is this like that?"

I think with many road users is they make assumptions.

The council has been painting bike signs on the roads around here (without any lanes), in some places they have placed them in the door zone!!! (and campaigners are seeking to get these ones changed) but in other places they are in the middle of the lane. I think they are a good idea but I've yet to find out from a non cycling motorist what they think they mean.
