Did you strip the hub down to place lubrication or was it dipped in ATF oil?
Okay. Maybe worth learning how to service the hub yourself or take it back. From what others say, alot of bike shops won't do a proper service, they find it too much hassle

I took my wife's internal Alfine 8 hub gears apart because they weren't working when I bought the bike cheap.
They are not too complex, but you need to clean them with degreaser, check for wear, fill them with semi-fluid grease and seal the hub so that the semi-fluid grease doesn't leak onto your disc brake.
