Newbie possible bike purchase opinions wanted

Hello All,

I'm in the market looking to buy a road bike. I currently ride approx 60-100 miles per week. I am using a claude butler hardtail at the moment which is not realy suitable as the miles are all road. Not had a road bike for about 10 years so would this be good starter bike?
Opinions apreciated or other bike recommendation's within budget welcomed.

I reckon that GT GTR is £50 more than it should be and possibly also the wrong side of 10 kg for what it originally cost.

Do you want something you can fit mudguards and a rack too?

cheers for the replies. I don't intend to fit mudgaurds or a rack, have had a look at the Giant SCR 1.5 very tempted as only £508 on wiggle at the mo but looking at that made me check the SCR 1 out as well which looks a nice bike question though is it worth the extra £160 for the better components?
