newbie bike

Hey all...i'm considering a couple of options in purchasing a bike...i've been running around on a shite hybrid for the last 3 months to make sure I am back into biking and loved it so decided to upgrade to a road race which I used to when i was a teenager

Anyhow, i am considering either a 90's cannondale r500 or one of the new ones such as a raleigh or viking for around 250 quid....what say you should i go with the cannondale even tho its age?

A mate has an R500 -it's not a bad frame and will stand upgrading in the wheels/groupset dept better than the new ones you mention.

I believe Halfords have the knocked the price of the Carrera Virtuosa down to £329.00 ... it got brilliant reviews in the mags for the money

well lads and lasses, i got me the dale! and she's bloody great...stoked with the way it handles and sooo much better than the hybrid...its been really well maintained by previous owner with regular services etc...so its a pleasure to ride...thanks for your help anyhow!
