Some spiffing handbuilts from @Spoked Wheels as he suggests ;)

Thank you Victoria

Just remember when upgrading its more important to be aero than it is to save weight when it comes to wheels...

There is some true in that statement but it depends on other factors,

Depends on what type of riding you do...

:okay:

if they are travelling over 5mph usually aero is better than lightweight.

Yes, again, there is some true in that statement but it depends on other factors too.

Even when this can be true, we are talking about marginal gains that for most of us makes no difference at all. If you are competing then yes, a marginal gain will help but most of us do not compete and we'd benefit more from something that is reliable and serviceable. Finding a balance between reliability, durability, budget, look and type of riding works best for most people.

I think you will find looking good beats both of those :okay:

Jason, you are such a tart

OP mentioned Fulcrums and later Cosmics. One can deduce they ride a road bike from that and if they are travelling over 5mph usually aero is better than lightweight. To save the extra weight I'd reccomend a quick poo before setting off.

And another person gets suckered by magazine BS....

I'm now leaning towards not blowing the money on things bikey but hey. Thanks for the ideas.

I've window shopped a lot of nice looking wheels at any rate. Probably just get a set built on a budget if at all, it's for a restoration jobby. BB
