Hello all, I get my first road bike tomorrow and would like to know what cycle clothing I should buy. I would like to cycle in all weather's and be warm and comfortable. It would help if you could name the brands and where to buy them from as I'm very new to the cycle world.

Depends on your budget and build really. Padded shorts and good gloves are the first thing. Something for your head if follically challenged

Waterproofs tend to be boil In The bag. Wind proof better, and accept you'll get wet if riding in heavy rain

Shoes if going clipless

The list is quite endless potentially, can cost a little or less or a lot

I've got some clipless pedals and shoes some mountain bike gloves. Is Aldi bits any good.
Can do worse if on a budget. I'd spend more on shorts and jacket, for the winter you can stick running tights over your shorts. If you hunt around, there are some good sales on
also check the classifieds on here, good kit gets sold at good prices

Cycling in a downpour some bits of you will get wet no matter what you wear. Windproof gear is better than waterproof imo, keeps out the chill even if lets some water in.
Your body will get very warm if you put an effort on the ride, invest more in good overshoes and gloves.
On saying that, I find Aldi's (cheap) winter gloves very warm, while I still haven't found a way to keep feet completely dry

I would buy the following for this time of year, but it will change once the warm weather arrives.

Padded shorts - DHB wiggle
Full winter gloves - take your pick , possible some glove liners if you really feel the cold
Skull cap or cycling cap
Helmet (your choice & many threads on the subject )
Some sort of protetective eyewear (glasses, clear or prescription as required)
Cycling tights or runners tights to keep your legs warm
Overshoes to keep your feet warm, not matter what your clipless/flat pedal combination
Lastly a good quality showerproof jacket such as the Altura night vision

I started off buying all my stuff from Sports Direct, then spent more when I knew it was going to be an ongoing thing. I still wear some of the SD stuff, it's really not bad!

Who are they lol.

Err! a lot of people ask that, they are the company that for many years made the UK cycling team kit, and still make for a lot of clubs etc.

www.impsport.com

You can pop into the factory and buy direct if you wish, proper cycling people.

Have a good look around the site it will ell you something about them. Brilliant kit with outstanding customer service, just not the advertising budget of the stuff most people wear.

Thanks for your help so far great advice. I wouldn't want to wear shorts this time of year is there anything else out there that is a loose fit. Thanks

Decathlon are a good starting point. They have good value, good quality kit in store where you can try it on without the vagaries of mail order. One specific bit of kit for winter riding I would push is a longsleave 100% merino wool base layer.
