New to MTB and advice on a bike plz

Hi I want to get into cycling.....

I'm 6ft2....... 16st........ to begin with I will be using it to go for cross country / road riding...... and fun with my kids

I'm looking at 3 bikes at the moment, which one is best

Middle one's best specced - not a bad bike at all, especially if you can get it in XL.

You can ride a MTB on the road much better than Hybrid off road - no brainer.

The XTC409 looks ok, but I wouldn't assume an XL is the size for you without swinging your leg over it first. I'm 6'4" and wouldn't ride a 22" frame.

I would for sure - nicer to ride, and probably save money on upgrades anyway. As said above, you may be L or XL depending on your build, but fitting's not as important on MTBs as road, so I wouldn't get too stressed about it. I have two frames the same, one M and one XL - both fine for different things.

That middle one is a well specc'd bike for the money. I'm not altogether sure you're gonna get better than that to be fair. Shop around a bit to be certain, look at Genesis Core, Merlin Malts, and so on.
