Thanks very much guys really appreciated and I'll have a play around with all of the variables to see if it helps. I'll def try raising the seat a bit and moving it back. That's not to getting started on cleats!

Like I say it's difficult to narrow it down. I'm in the same chair for 37 hours a week so maybe there's nothing wrong with my bike position which is causing the back pain.

Could also be tight hip flexors , shortened by the amount of time you spend sitting, maybe add some hip flexor stretches ?
