doing the jack and Grace 100k audax tomorrow. my old saddle broke recently. Due to illness my new saddle(Brooks team pro classic) has only done about 15 kilometres. Anyone see a flaw in this plan ?

After 30 mins on my new bike, complete with Brooks saddle I would imagine you'll be fine .
Most comfy saddle ever.
Good luck for tomorrow.

No holes its a team pro. A bit harder and narrower than a b17.Felt ok on the short ride I did manage to do. Fingers crossed.

I once did a 65 mile to Bridlington and the same back on my youngest brothers bike which had a Brooks saddle. I now own that saddle and it does fit me.
Maybe we have the same shaped bum.
I was a lot younger then (about 20).

Be like an old pro.

Get a sizeable rump steak and stick it down the back of the shorts, and create a buffer between the saddle and your contact points.

Not only will you be afforded extra padding, but you'll have a nicely tenderized (and, for that matter, marinaded) steak ready for a post-ride repast.

If the previous saddle was also a Brooks, you'll be used to something hard, and won't have a problem.
I did a 400k (Brevet Cymru) on a brand new Team Pro, previously unridden on, apart from a mile or so round the block getting the position right.

The only new Brooks ride that I can remember was London to Hastings. 60-something miles ish. Don't remember there being any problems with the saddle. I do remember the fish and chips on the beach though. So don't worry.

Did my first 300k last year on a brand new ISM Adamo saddle I'd only ridden for about ten minutes on...
I now have a recumbent.

Hope the J&G goes well @Banjo , I really like that audax, although I abandoned it last year after seeing everyone sliding off and breaking bones.
