Where you want to work is Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow. They have bees 'in' the museum! ;0)

Darlington used to have a museum with bees. I spent hours in the place looking at the exhibits. My dream job as a kid was being the museum attendant.

I had and interview on Tuesday at the museum gardens here in York, today they offered it to me, which is fantastic. However I have just this very minuet received and application pack to work with bees with the CSL, Its more a career rather than a job. They offer training and other benefits, for a two year post.

I have accepted the Job at the museum, but still feel I should apply for the CSL job and see where it takes me. Is this the right thing to do? I need to give a months notice on the Recycling job anyway.

Its a difficult choice. :becool:

Take the job at the museum, work your way to the top of museum services (should take a year or so) and then announce that York is to have a new museum of cycling and you've engaged a well known cycling historian on a VERY fat salary to set it up.

Who then hires an Archeologist to study some of the fossilised wrecks of bikes abandoned around the area. On a fat salary, naturaly.

I like your thinking...

Bloody well done Gromit! Take the museum job, apply for the other. Nice long commute out to CSL though....

Now, if you're not doing the recycling any more, does this mean less impetus for my boss to get in first thing in the morning?:becool:

I remember that, next to the church, Its now an office for the homeless or users to get help.

Didn't think of that, standards may slip. We will have to see.

The only thing I'm not liking about the museum job is that I will have to work bank hols, 24 days holiday but no mention of getting time off in lieu for working them.

Last time I worked for a museum they never gave you two days off together in a week, which grinds you down eventually because you don't have any time to unwind.

Also will be working some late nights. Just hope they don't take the pee. Otherwise i'm out.
