hi all iv just joined your site and hope to get some help.

about 2 weeks ago my motorbike (a yamaha mt01) thought it wood be a good time to break down and take all my money with it so i startid useing my dads pushbike to get to work (a bike he has had for about 5 years and NEVER USED IT)

the plan was to use his pushbike untill my motorbike is back on the road but im realy enjoying useing the pushbike and now im going to cycle to work all the time now. the pushbike im useing right now it a saracen ikon.

now i want to get a bike more for my size and this he prob that im haveing.

im 6foot6 and 20stone (NOT fat well mabey just a littel:laugh: but i am very big boned)

as a kid i always broke my pushbikes as i tend to put too much into pedeling and stuff just bends or snaps.

but when i go to work i have a big army bag with me witch is about 3or4stone so in total my bike has around 23-25 stone on it the saracen bike im useing at the mo has front and rear supenshun and the rear is just about bottoming out on me.

in the two weeks on the saracen the pedals are starting to woble all over the place the wheels are bending im haveing to carry a toolkit with me just in case.

so can eneyone help me find a bike for me its just to go to work and back there is a very small dirt track i use to get to work around 500 yards and apart from that i wont be going off road but wood like to get a moutain bike. but the one thing i need it to do is work without breaking in 5 mins.

so whats the strongest bike out there?

i leave myself in your care???

Hello and

I'm sure somebody will be here soon with some bike listings (I'm not good at that stuff)

So good job getting on the bike and wanting to continue

You could try a good old fashioned steel bike - look for Reynolds 531 material which is light and strong but 501 will do equally as well - but you then ideally need a pair of 36 spoke wheels with new spokes.

Having said that,it may be that a combined weight of 25 stone will be too much even for that set up.

Welcome on the forum mate. At 20 stone your not too big to ride .Have a look at this guys efforts http://www.amazingshrinkinggaz.co.uk/blog/ He started at an incredible 39 stones and is now down to about 21 through cycling.

I think if your a bit carefull about not banging into curbs etc most bikes would be ok.If you ride mostly on the road consider a bike without suspension as it does make it more work to pedal.

Lose the suspension; you don't need it on the road, it's a weak spot and adds too much weight and cost. Just go for a simple, non-suspension mtb and make sure you get smooth, narrow tyres, pumped up really hard. The more you can affford to spend the better the quality will be and the stronger the alloys used to build the bike.

Bike recommendation 25stone

It looks like you ought to be in the market for a Clydesdale bike.
