I'd go with Campag or SRAM...

And don't forget the rest of the gubbins - wheels, forks seat pin, saddle, bars etc. It all adds up very quickly !!

If you are on a tightish budget (which I think you are), then consider Ultegra if you can afford it, if not 105. In my opinion, stick above Tiagra. I think you will find the Campag options a tad more expensive.

P.S. I just got back from picking up my rebuilt Centaur shifters. Who could say that about their Shimano shifters? Nice to be able to rebuild, rather than discard.
